– Suicide is the leading cause of death amongst young Australians accounting for 25% of deaths among females (20-24yo) and 29% of deaths among males (20-24yo) (ABS 2012).
– In Australia, an average of 6.9 people take their lives each day. For each single completed suicide, it is estimated that as many as 30 people attempt suicide.
